Que Sera, a type of Rhyolite, is named for Quartz and Undulatory Extinction (a geological term referring to the type of extinction that happens when a thin section of the mineral is examined under cross polarized light) and the “Sera” from the song “Que Sera Sera” as it is said that if you “ask” the stone will “tell” and “what will be, will be.” Que Sera is mined from Brazil with its counterpart Llanite mined from Llanos, Texas.  The Brazilian version generally has more of a grey matrix; however, they are both conglomerate stones made up of Blue Quartz (blue spots), Feldspar (pinkish spots) as well as various degrees of Calcite, Kaolinite, Iron, Magnetite, Clinozoisite, etc.
